Donna was born and raised in New Orleans. She graduated from Rhodes College, a small liberal arts school in Memphis, TN. While at Rhodes, she was a member of the college’s first Mock Trial Competition Team. Donna then attended Mississippi College School of Law where she served on the Moot Court Board. After law school, Donna served as law clerk to the Hon. Robert J. Burns of the Twenty-Fourth Judicial District Court in Gretna, Louisiana.
