The firm is pleased to announce that Lawrence G. Pugh, III, Francis Philip Accardo, Frederick T. Haas, III and Christopher E. Carey have been selected for the 2013 Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a rigorous, multi-phase rating process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with third-party research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators for peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state by state basis. The Super Lawyers’ selection process involves three basic steps: creation of the candidate pool, evaluation of candidates by the research department, and peer evaluation by practice area.
Mr. Pugh’s defense practice has a specific focus on toxic tort, products liability and environmental damage claims. Mr. Accardo is engaged in the defense of products liability claims along with his duties as managing counsel for defense of asbestos personal injury litigation pending nationwide. Mr. Haas is engaged in a general civil and maritime personal injury defense and products liability practice including oilfield contract and insurance consultation. Mr. Carey is involved in a general admiralty trial and appellate practice with special emphasis on marine coverage disputes, defense of maritime personal injury, maritime products liability, and cargo subrogation cases.
